🎙️ New Episode of Talk 204! Superintendent Rick Moulin sits down with longtime Bonner Springs leader Dr. Jerry Abbott—retiring after years of dedicated service to USD 204 and the Bonner Springs/Edwardsville Education Foundation—and Lisa Terrell, a proud BSHS alum who has dedicated more than three decades to supporting students as a beloved counselor and is now stepping into her new role as Foundation Director. Together, Rick, Jerry, and Lisa reflect on decades of shared commitment to students and the community. They talk about the Foundation’s incredible growth under Dr. Abbott’s leadership, the power of giving back, and how community support continues to open doors for USD 204 students. It’s a heartfelt conversation about legacy, leadership, and the enduring spirit that makes Bonner Springs and Edwardsville such special places to call home. 🧡🖤 🔗 https://rss.com/podcasts/talk204/2264249/

Today our 7th graders took a break to celebrate World Mental Health Awareness Day! Students picked from relaxing activities like a nature walk, yoga, mindful coloring, guided meditation, and gratitude journaling.
Check out these photos from our mindfulness walk, a perfect reminder to slow down, breathe, and take care of ourselves! 🌿✨💚

A big thank you to Meteorologist Stevie Stephenson from KCTV5 News for visiting our Career and life Planning students today. Our students had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the world of broadcast meteorology, the importance of science in forecasting, and the career journey that led Stevie to where she is today. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and inspiration shared with our students!

Spirit Week: Our halls looked like a country music video and a wild west movie set all in one!
Students and staff showed up rootin'-tootin' ready, dressed as their favorite Western stars and country icons!
From cowboy hats to rhinestones, and boots that were made for walkin' – y'all brought the country charm!

Overalls? Check.
Plaid? Check.
Looking like you just finished feeding the chickens before homeroom? BIG check.
Whether you're rocking straw hats or just trying not to trip over your boots in the hallway—you're plowing through Spirit Week in style!

Our 20th annual Tomahawk Trot fundraiser is coming October 14th! The Tomahawk Trot is our only school fundraiser where we ask our students, parents, community, and staff members to raise money for student centered activities. The students will walk or run approximately 2.6 miles on a route through Bonner Springs. Each participant who collects or donates $20.00 will receive a t-shirt, participate in the walk/run, and enjoy snacks after the run. Prizes will be available for the top students who receive the most donations. You can make payments in Skyward, Revtrak, or at the front office each morning on or before October 13th!
If you own a business or are part of an organization and would like to support the event, we invite you to become a sponsor. You could have your logo featured on the back of the official event t-shirts with a minimum of $200 donation. To participate, please contact Kristy Adkins at adkinsk@usd204.net or call CMS at 913-422-5115, Ext. 3105. It's important to note that 100% of the money raised or donated will go directly back to the students at CMS, and your contribution may be eligible for a tax deduction.
Beginning Wednesday, September 10th, 138th Street between K-32 and Pratt will be reduced to a single lane due to roadway work in the area. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic with stop/slow paddles. Drivers may be asked to stop and wait for oncoming traffic to clear before proceeding. Expect delays during peak travel times; school buses may also experience delays.
Please allow extra time if traveling to or from Clark Middle School or Bonner Springs High School.
